a spring inspired meal... Lemon Artichoke and Pea Pasta.

Take a peek at this gorgeous and simple recipe I found, that's great for entertaining on a budget this spring. All of theses ingredients would probably be in your pantry anyway. I can't wait to try it myself.

Melt butter, add onions and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Cook onions till translucent.

Next step, add some frozen peas and jarred or canned artichokes

Heat through, and then add some creamy goat cheese and heavy cream.

Loving all these great hairstyles for spring, especially the messy bun with funky clips like those in the first image. Which are you loving?? Also crushing on the last image of the scarf, how Carmen Miranda without the fruit, of course... Next up will be some Easter inspiration, makeup trends, spring heels and yummy recipes.
Cheers my Lovelies. xx

Here's to a great week as Easter approaches. The kids and I are spending time together as a family, I'll be taking them to dinner to a new restaurant Saturday night, kite flying and to the beach for a picnic. So stay tuned for family pics of our Easter break. Cheers to all and aren't these blooms delightful. There is nothing like fresh flowers in the springtime.

orchid show outing

So how was the weekend folks.  This weekend I did a mother and daughter hang time at the annual Orchid Society Flower show. Layla and I had a great time, here are some of her pics and mine from our Sunday outing. What a blast, I had to restraint my daughter from picking the orchids to take home. LOL. We saw some wonderful varieties of orchids and I also signed up to join the who kill cacti. Wish me luck.

Here's to a great weekend. Have a fantastic week ahead. xx

happy weekend & love will overtake you

Here are some pics of my friend Lin on her wedding day. Lin is very dear friend to me, and a dear sister that's a part of my Church, and now after she lost her husband 11 years ago to cancer, has found love all over again with Mark who also lost his wife suddenly 5 years ago. After many years of being alone Lin  has found love with their families now united in this wonderful ceremony.

Thanks to Lin and her wisdom as a courageous woman of God I am inspired to hold on to God as I take my own journey...wondering if love will overtake me at the end of it all as well. Sigh!

daydreaming...of street cafes

From the Netherlands to Solvenia, from Louisana to Dubai, street cafes have always held a certain charm and romanticism for me. There is nothing like a cup of expresso, a light lunch, your fave dessert or a glass of wine, no matter where you are in the world right now, there is street cafe not far. Whether you are with the girls, that special someone or alone; yes alone its always a treat, to take a break and relax. Today I'm daydreaming of a far away, exotic destination and sitting pretty in a street cafe to just watch the world go by... to just be and enjoy the moment.

Cheers to a love week ahead. xx

seeing emerald green...

For 2013 the color of the year according to Pantone is , as if we did not know already, is Emerald green. How do they do this and send all of us into a fashion and decor frenzy. Well needless to say, I have followed suit and can only take one item of clothing at a time  I love the long flowing skirts a lot for formal evenings and the green skinnies for a more casual look, paired with yellow or turquoise would look smashing.

Happy Weekend  my dearest lovelies. Be sure to let me know whats your take on the color of the year.
