Coffee Table Books (Part 1).

If you are passionate about tea, its rituals and outstanding recipes. Overall, it's a lovely coffee/tea table book to have as part of your tea book library. So when planning your next tea event do not be without this one.

Wedding Flowers is really an any event kind of book, not just weddings. Complied by Victoria magazine back in the day when it was published by Hearst. Just pore through the photos to see floral enchantment in action.

This book definitely represents my style. (I love this book and I love Victoria magazine from 1997 and books. Now I spend fortune in purchasing back issues.) For those of us that prefer a decorating book with simple charm, mismatched furniture and personal treasures this is the book for you.

This book evokes an easygoing Summer feeling, and inspires you to fill your home with cozy furniture, fresh flowers and flea market finds. I absolutely adore this book! If you love the "Shabby Chic" style, then you'll truly enjoy this lovely book.…

Redecorating on the dime.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well, especially those in the North-east. My breakfast area needed cheering up so I painted the walls in a sunshine yellow which gives me the feeling of happiness in the morning as the sun filters through the windows. Hope you like it. Ohh and I did this in two hours, my husband was in disbelief. Take care everyone.

Seven Loving Steps.

Seven Steps to Loving with Action in Our Homes
1. Love is a learned response
Give affection daily and consciously respond to affection given to you.
2. Love your husband
Visible love to one another provides security and stability in the home.
3. Love must be communicated
Do your tones and body language reflect love, along with your words?
4. Love takes time to be together
Intentionally make time for those you love and look into their eyes.
5. Love shares
Share work and play; thoughts and ideas. Share life!
6. Love listens
Listen with your heart as well as with your ears.
7. Love thrives within trust
Keep integrity in tact

Outdoor Festival and Craft Fair.

Well this weekend was spent at our annual Holetown Festival and craft Fair. Don't you just love festivals?? The great bargains on everything handmade, the food and the kids had a grand time of it. Above this white dress caught my eye, as well as the straw hats on top.
This usually is the first of many street festivals in my island home here in the Caribbean.

Layla checking out some very interesting mask.

These hand woven baskets were divine. It had been past sunset at the time.

Hand painted clothing and handbags were a hit with everyone, the dress above is hand dyed silk.

These bowls were made from fish scales and a special resin, that gave them a mother of pearl look. The guys who made these are super talented.

Pottery was all the rage for me, especially the leaf patterned platters (above) for entertaining. Red Clay Potters pay amazing attention to detail. I'll be looking out for more of their stuff in the near future.

Trying to be a great Mom through the challenges.

Liam and Layla my munchkins.

This is Liam who made it through complications to be
born December 20th, my miracle.

Liam and Layla having fun.

I wish someone had given me a manual entitled 'How to raise Kids to be awesome human beings". Recently I've been troubled by the thoughts that I'm not spending enough quality time with my kids, am I striking the balance when it comes to discipline, am I loving my children despite their shortcomings and am I being a good mom.
Well I can tell you I have been very troubled by the possibility of Liam having Dyslexia, its hereditary and I'm not dealing well. He is due to assessed next week and I'm hoping he isn't. Why you ask, because I feel I'm not up to the work it will take. I desperately feel I have enough on my plate. Can anyone relate?

When I first held my children I had hopes and dreams for them, especially after having two miscarriages, now I feel incredible blessed by God to have them. I pray that I will not lose f…

Teapots Galore!!!

I don't know about you , but I just adore teapots. The most recent additions to my collection are the "Pots n' Posies" line of teapots by Lori Siebert. This little teapot is perfect to display or even to use for a personal cup of tea. I currently have the teapots quaintly named SHARE, LAUGH and ENJOY. Aren't they the cutest???? I just need the SMILE teapot to add to my collection, as seen above. I'm on the hunt folks.

Creating a Cozy Bedroom.

I'm so excited about redecorating my bedroom, just looking at these photos are filling me with ideas galore. Now I'm not looking to spend a fortune. I believe in any bedroom, my motto is to keep things simple, clean, comfortable and cozy.
Re-upholstering pieces I already own is a great way to re-use and re-cycle. A piece that has lived in another room could be given a new life just by simply changing location. Now is the time for me to experiment with things I already own.
Neatly arranging things I've collected (whether from the thrift shop or around the world) on walls and bedside tables. But hey if I just neatly arrange my bedroom, it woul…

Paintings of mine.

I'm currently working on a new series wish me luck.

Back Pain.

Hey everybody hope you had a great weekend. Well where do I start firstly Liam came home with a valentines gift, intended for me, but he wanted to keep it for himself. Then had a huge attitude toward hubby because we had dinner plans that he almost forgot about and last minute rushed me to get dressed and out of the house. Also my daughter decided she wanted to show everyone at church her pampers, she took to walking around with her dress over her head, not cool. I threw out my back running behind her, now I'm still in pain. A pretty event full weekend for sure. How was yours???

Working Mom.

Hey all, I'm sooo broke. Who cares right. I'm just here thinking of all the things I need and can't afford. Any way I don't want to rant, it could be a downward spiral.
I just had meeting which went very well, they signed off on a $5400 contract. Yipppeee!!!!
I anyone told me one day I'll be a sales oriented job, I'd probably laugh myself to death. Well ther has been alot of surprises in our lives, since the recession and so many jobs lost. To be honest we're probably in jobs that wouldn't be our first choice, but we all need to provide for ourselves, our children, our elderly parents. One of the reasons having a job is important for me is that it gives me some self worth and security. I'll never forget being at home with out a job, no kids, no husband it was a horrible time living off my mum, not that she minded. That time was vastly different from being a stay at home mom.

I felt honored to be able to take care of my kids and raise them. I wish I…

God Bless You.

What a great way to end the day. I just adore fellow artist like Karla Dornacher, her art is very inspiring to me. So much goes on in any given day for each of us, so its kind of nice to pause and just be blessed with these words of the Bible. Take care and thank you for stopping by.

Anthropologie. A one of a kind shopping experience.

I'm inspired by the Anthropologie brand and their design element which permeates everything from their accessories to home decor. Everything is an inspiration in itself. Above are just a few things that are on my wish list, right now. is their website, request a catalog or find a store in your location. I'm sooo loving everything they sell.

I'm so head over heels with the draping of their tanks and tees, the cardigans and the one of a kind accessories. What should I choose????? Also, who does their photography for their websites and catalog??? Does anyone know???? I would like to meet their design team. This emerging brand is to be reckoned with, its romantic, flirty and exquisite in tailoring. I have all their catalogs as well. Lets just say for the record, I could easily be bankrupt this year and well dressed... of course.

The Carte Noire Readers

For a more seductive coffee break, watch The Carte Noire Readers read your favourite literary love scenes. Begin by choosing a Carte Noire Reader. There’s Dominic West, the cult star of the The Wire, Greg Wise of Sense and Sensibility and Dan Stevens of The Line of Beauty. Then, choose a love scene from a mix of classic, modern and emerging novels. Relax back with a rich, velvety mug of Carte Noire, and when you’re sitting comfortably, then he’ll begin.

This incredible marketing campaign is just superbly phenomenal and down right sexy. Who came up with this idea? Carte Noire Coffee and Penguin publishers join efforts to seduce their customers and you know what they have me coming back for more, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

New readings are released bi-weekly, so give yourself your perfect coffee break every week to catch up on your favourite readings. Go to if you love Jane Austen, to enjoy 8-15 mins of your favourite love scene. Are you sittin…

Contentment alludes me.

There is so much to be grateful for all around us but we are sometimes blinded by our greed for more. I'm not as grateful as I should be for a number of reasons. Firstly I compare myself to others, fretting over how much it seems God is blessing everyone except me. Secondly, I look at what I don't have and I probably don't need, example being a bigger house, a slimmer body, the latest gadget or whatever it is I feel I need at any given time.
I think its interesting that coming before God requires me to be grateful in my heart first before I present my request to Him. I definitely need to understand that God does bless me/us, according to what he thinks is best for me. When I think about my incredible husband tha…

Beaching (a verb) meaning to spend an unsual amount of time at the beach.

One of the most incredible aspects of living in the Caribbean are the beaches, with their lily white sands, turquoise-green surf of varying hues that await you. As you walk along the shore, surf tickles your feet and the sand runs between your toes.Ummmm can't wait. Its Friday and I'm looking forward to going to the beach with the family, my beach umbrella, straw hat, a good book, camera, chairs, the cooler filled with goodies like chilled lemonade, a bottle of wine, ice tea, potato salad, fried chicken, coconut cake and cheese and dill sandwiches. Yummmmm!!

I can't wait to curl up in the shade of a palm tree with the good book and just relax and watch the kids and hubby play. Everyone should set aside sometime to unwind and relax. It rejuvenates and soothes the soul, especially in this age we are living in. Don't forget to relax in the only way you know how. So everyone kick back, relax and have a great weekend. How will you kick back this weekend?

Victoria Magazine, my inspiration, my bliss.

As a newly married young woman some 13 years ago, I was looking to be the best homemaker, the best cook, an entertaining guru. I wanted my home to be beautifully decorated, to put meals on the table that were both creative and delicious, I needed inspiration. I realized I had to seek out resources to aid me on my journey, but where would I look. Anyway on my way to my bookstore for my usual fashion mags, I saw my first issue of Victoria, that was May 1997. Since then I have almost every issue and also all their books and I still buy back issues from Amazon and other sites, needless to say Victoria has become a staple in my life.

I am still buying Victoria, published by Hoffman Media now (not Hearst). Phyllis Norton Hoffman, President has put her own spin on the previous mag with desserts and fabulous treats gracing their covers. The photos are spectacular and the recipes are just divine. For those of you who are fellow readers of this mag, must admit Victoria is more than a magazi…
