a pink, gold and glittery valentine's for gals only

Hello Lovelies, have a brilliant weekend as we say goodbye to January and herald in February, the month of love. So this Valentines finds me hanging out with my best girls and having a fun time. So for inspiration of our hang time, I found this pre- Valentines hen party with lovely styling, florals  and fare. So I wanted to share it with you and be sure to try these ideas for yourself. What do you think of all the glitter and shades of pink?
The party here was divided into stations made up of makeup, bubbly bar, sweet treats and valentines craft. How divine is all this, what's your favourite party idea?, mine is the glittery champagne bottles and glasses.

I love this little teapot and cup ring above, how cool is. So many party ideas here for Valentine's, I think I am on over load. See more of the "Oh Lovely" party as it was rightly themed, here. I am so looking forward to trying out some of these party ideas.

Cheers Everyone

Critic's Choice Awards - what the stars wore.

Don't you just love award season... I do and here are some of the blue carpet action at the Critic's Choice awards. Who are you loving from this line up.

Angelina is glowing without Brad, in her silver Atelier Versace. Now this is how you dress when nominated. Angelina usually gets it right every-time.  Can't wait to see her out do this look for the Oscars. Loving the almost curls in her hair...effortless!

So Sassy! Emily Blunt spiced up the carpet in a beaded red dress by Emilio Pucci with a keyhole cutout at the bodice. She accessorized the design with a Jimmy Choo clutch, gold Christian Louboutin sandals, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. HOLA!!!!

Gasp!!!! Rosario Dawson kept things classic in a midnight blue Vivienne Westwood dress with a sweetheart neckline and a thigh-high slit, (nice legs also helps), accessorized with Casadei heels and dangling Irene Neuwirth earrings. She looks so stunning, don't you just love her atittude.

The Best Actress nominee for "Wild"…

serene sunday

Here's to a lovely, relaxed Sunday, wherever you may be.  Cheers Lisa.

rachel khoo - the little paris kitchen

Happy Monday lovelies, what are you up to for this brilliant day. I have a bit of a cold at the moment, but I'm pushing through with my meds and juices. So I'm in bed with my sniffles Anyway I couldn't resist sharing some recipes from Rachel Khoo's Little Paris Kitchen. Both recipes are divine... Quiche Lorraine which is very popular with Parisians, can be served for breakfast, lunch or a starter. Cheese and Potato Nests is also great for breakfast or as a snack.

Be sure to checkout her new cookbook coming out soon. Pre-order here.

Cheers Everyone.

coffee and conversation

Hello everyone, just a quick post of some conversation and food for thought. I have been thinking a lot about life's circumstances out of my control. I guess  it's the effects of the new year and the situations, I currently face. My thoughts have been about how much I worry about things, people, etc. I am a worrier, there I've admitted it and I'm somewhat bashful to admit, but if you are honest, so are you.
If we are still making plans and goals, is it your goal to forgive others, mend broken relationships? How do we move on from bad situations and their consequences? How do we change the things that are not within in our control in the first place?
I believe the answer lies in our perspective, how we think. Our mindsets need to change and become one that's sees possible solutions. How we perceive things speaks volumes as to how we will approach life struggles. We need a mind change, to not do the predictable... whatever our predictable is. For example, my predictabl…

it's my birthday...

Well it's another birthday and I feel so blessed that I can celebrate with all my lovely friends today. I hope the new year is off to a smashing start for us all. I heard someone once say, "If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him your plans". That might true, as we not always sure what God's plans are for our lives and they are often unexpected.  So as we make plans, keep an open mind to all this  brilliant new year may hold.

Cheers

Goat's Cheese, Pistachio & Prune Cake - The Little Paris Kitchen

Happy Sunday my Lovelies. How are you this fine Sunday wherever you are?  Well the new year started in a blaze of glory as the pass two days was devoted to decorating for a wedding of two dear friends from my church. All the festivities ended late last night with dancing and what was a great feast.

So as tired as I am and with lots more to do in getting the kids and myself ready for back to school and the first full week of work, I am here to bring you another post from my latest obsession with Paris, in the form of a parisian recipe compliments Rachel Khoo.

Now parisians see cake very differently from westerners, so this was a real eye-opener for me. Watch this brilliant cake come to life, trust me you will love it and it will stay on your entertaining list of faves. This recipe is great for sunday picnics, brunch or a quick snack. So Cheers my lovely friends and stay tuned for a more in depth bio about Rachel as I share more of her delicious recipes in the year to come.

Cheers.
