Happy Weekend Folks!

Hello folks,

Another weekend is before us and I can't wait to be out the office door.
It has been an unprecedentedly long week, even though it was one day short.
Now I have a huge headache that won't quit. Anyway the weekend is already filling up with a birthday party for the kids, a special anniversary church service, a lunch party, a wedding, and a visit to my sister-in law and my baby niece. Probably some shopping and a visit to the beach.
It going to be a good change from the stress of my work.

Hubby and I have been missing each other as well, we're together but not
together, if you get my drift. We are like two freight trains going by each other in the house even.
So we need to just plan a date...Hmmmmph!You know what I'll plan something and surprise him, how's that.

I have realized a few things in the years I have been married, but the one thing  that stands out is,... it takes a long time to build trust, love and respect in a marriage, but only seconds to tear it down.
At least that is what it seems like to me.

So to everyone have a great weekend, whatever you do.

I now leave you with pictures of "Little Arches" one of the most
distinctive boutique hotels in the Caribbean and just thirty minutes from my home.

Much Love Lisa.

Trusting your God.

Trusting God is easy when things are going well and we can see our way. Trusting God when the path is obscured and we cannot clearly see ahead is more challenging.

There is a prayer in the Bible prayed by David; it’s a prayer you and I can pray for ourselves when our way is obscured with the uncertainty of our lives. Mark it in your Bible and make it the prayer of your heart whenever doubt and fear want to crowd out your faith.

“Show me Your ways, O Lord. Teach me Your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me for You are my God and my Savior and my hope is in You all day long” (Psalm 25:4-5, NIV).

Whenever your faith wants to waiver, read this prayer and refresh your confidence in the Lord who will lead you and guide you and teach you because He is your God and Savior and your hope all the day long!

Much Love to everyone. Lisa.

Baked Eggs in Bread Bowls. Sunday Breakfast.

Aren't they cute?  They were very, very good.  It's the whole egg and the toast combo all together in one nice package.
These are so easy to make and wouldn't they be splendid on a brunch buffet table?  The best part, you can easily make two, ten, a hundred, whatever your needs are at the moment.
I think there are a lot of variations you could do nicely with this recipe, such as, swap out the Parmesan cheese with grated Gruyere or crumbled blue cheese to give a different taste.  Use feta and substitute oregano for the other herbs for a Greek flavor.
I used sourdough but I think this would also be nice with onion or brioche rolls as long as they are sturdy.
Any way you put these together, they will be great.

Slice off top of each dinner roll and gently remove some bread until there is a hole large enough to accommodate an egg.

Arrange rolls on a baking sheet.  Reserve tops.  Crack an egg into each roll.

Top each egg with some herbs and a bit of cream.  Season with salt and pepper.  Sprinkle with Parmesan.  Bake in a 350 degree oven until eggs are set and bread is toasted 20 to 25 minutes.  After eggs have cooked for 20 minutes, place bread tops on baking sheet and bake until golden brown.  Let sit 5 minutes.

Place tops on rolls and serve warm.

Eat with a knife and fork.
Thanks to Cathy for all her  great ideas. Much Love to everyone,...have a great Sunday.

Sitting Alone. Typing out loud.

Marshall Family Christmas Card 2009

Today my son asked to cross the street without my help. He made it very clear, he was not afraid and did not want me to follow him. I was not having it, of course, but he insisted. Anyway to make a long story short, I allowed him crossed the road on his own
(standing near by).
This is my dilemma, at what point to do give your kids (6yrs old) some independence,...I'm in no way ready for this phase. My daughter at 2yrs old picks out her own clothes and is very vocal about it. Lets say God has given me some strong-willed kids,...not that I'm usually quick to label my kids. But is it normal for kids to crave that independence at such a young age?
Some people might say, what's wrong with me, this is a good thing. I guess I'm a  borderline control freak when it comes to my children,...but who isn't, no matter what age they kids are. My mum is all up in my business all the time( that's because we're close and I tell her pretty much everything) and I'm a 43 yr old woman, in a lot of ways I know she still sees me as little Lisa.
Do mothers (and fathers) ever stop being protective or caring or seeking to help their offspring, tell me what you think.

Happy Thanksgiving and a last minute dessert.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and may their be happy memoirs made as we gather with family and friends . Take time to be grateful for the...
