the birthday girl

Well yesterday was my wee daughter's sixth birthday and she celebrated with her classmates with cake and lemonade a well as bubble blowers. She was really happy and proud to include her BFF by her side.

Blowing out her candles, I know what she wished for.

Here is Auntie Lana handing out party blowers. I always get emotional at the kids birthdays and try to make it extra special. Tonight I wanted to take them out to dinner, but started to come down with a cold and I'm fighting it off at the moment, so might just do a movie. So much rest for me this weekend, cheers my lovelies.

attitude of gratitude mondays

Happy Monday to all, and have a brilliant week ahead.  I'm here to share about my wonderful kids once again. They are doing great, having fun and each day has it's own memories of it's own.  They have coped very well with all the changes that have taken place in our household. Of course it's not easy adjusting to changes in ones life when you're still in a single digit age. But I have to say I am very proud of them and grateful they have helped me be the person I am today.
What are you grateful for at the start of this new week?
So many times I can reflect on what I do not have and what i wish I had. We can feel life would be so much better, if we had this or we had that, and miss out on what is right in front of us.

Take care and stay tuned for more adventures from the Marshall family.

cheers to the weekend

You know how I love a little bar tucked away  somewhere in a space and looking pretty. Well at Glitter Guide I couldn't resist sharing this like bar cart with you from here.
So Cheers to the weekend and whatever you do, do it fabulously. Till Monday.

sleeping with art

Take a peak at the eclectic apartment of Kyle DeWoody on This place has retro finds, an a variety of artwork, with loads of personality. As the creative director and co-founder of Grey Area, an art/design shop, Kyle knows her stuff about interesting objects - "Alone, they are a great story, but when you bring them into your space, they add character, charm, and uniqueness."

coffee and conversation

What a lovely morning it is to spend with my best-est friend Sonia, she is off to pursue her second degree of Law in Trinidad and Tobago. Even though she will be not far away, I will miss her terribly. This morning we grabbed a quick breakfast in the park, to catch up on what been happening in her life as she prepares to jet off, to what will be quite an adventure.

I admire her so much as she is going to leave behind her family to make this dream a reality, some of us can relate to this. We spoke about it not being easy and making sacrifices as she pursues furthering her education. I will miss her tons, our conversations, me hanging out at her home with her family and of course eating having lunch on Sunday afternoons after church. Did I say already I'm going to miss this woman...LOL.

Well I am trying real hard not to be emotional, but I feel like I'm losing my friend, but I'm totally supportive as she makes this move. I know her husband will hold the family togeth…
